8th July: Lunchtime Social
We did another 4 hour walk, repeating yesterday’s route. A half-way brew at the hump-back bridge over the Dikler in the Abbotswood Estate was very welcome.
Friends living off the Cricket Field had a lunch-time party. However coming out of the shower I discovered a skelf in my big toe. If you can sit in a lotus position, removing this presents no problem. For those of us who have long since lost this degree of supplety, it is painfully difficult to see it! However the offending plank was duly removed (probably as a result of wearing sandals through the newly laid wood-chip shavings on the wooded path through the cricket Field wood). There were outside caterers and a very convivial crowd. So a good do and I left at 5PM to walk the dogs.
