10 biscuits for a tenth birthday! (WELL, she did have to share them with Happy!).

Out to the Spar supermarket to buy the food that we should have bought last night, but missed it by 5 mins, as the store closed at 7.30 and we had been paying our camping fres at 7.00

Realised late last night that the Englisj/French concerter for the mobile  had gone missing: presumeably fallen out of the top pocket of the rucksack. So down to 2% on phone battery. So turnedit off and connected the solar charger. Quite overcast, so only charged to 30% by 12. Stopped in a field at 12 and had lunch and got phone up to 100%. The battery back-up is much slower, and even though sunnier , has not moved off it’s 1/4 bar position by 5PM.

Now heading for Cologné, which is 1-2 hours walk away. Topsy picking a soft route on grsss for the comfort of her feet. Washed them last night, put on dog anti-inflammatory liquid and some Savlon to disenfect.

Have just got to Cologné, and the Bar-Tabac is ferméd. Quel surprise! Apparently he is ALWAYS closed on a Wednesday!  Dogs don’t really look up to the 8k sown to the Loire at Le Lude. So may do an hour now; then the rest tomorrow and have a half day there, as there is a camp site.

CHANGE OF PLAN. Sitting dreaming of a beer by the water fountain in front of the church, a kind lady called Martine produced one, some cherry tomatoes, plums, a glass of Coke and some Sponge Fingers for Topsy on her birthday. To cap it all she reappeared with a glass of wine! Extremely generous!  So I am now camped behind the church AND beside the public toilets!
