I am sat in the courtyard of the Hôtel Splendide in Montreauil-Bellay, having the plât du jour of smokeď ham, mushroom wirh salad. Rather than fall asleep at the table, I have ordered a LARGE café au lait!

We covered 8.5k in 2.5 hours under overcast skies. We stopped by the River Thoet for a secind breakfast (picture). So I hope that this weather continues, so that we can cover the same this afternoon.

AFTER LUNCH:

Topsy clearly has a very tender right foot. So have bought antiseptic, cotton wool, elastoplast and a pack of kiddies athletic socks. So have m0ade Topsy a cushioned sock which works after a fashion. The Mark 2 model will be a double sock with a cotton wool layer sandwiched in the middle.
