Sept 23 Le grand Roc
Having bought the departing Iris a drink last night, her friend Elspeth (or Elizabet) arrived and so I bought her a drink as well. She turned out to be a guide at Le Grad Roc cave and so invited me up there today AND offered to keep the dogs in her office during the tour!
A cave full of stalactites and stalacmites of varing hues and sizes and very effectively lit. Air temp 16C, so a lot warmer than some. Masterfully described by Elspeth:
” The crystals are rhomboid in shape: so like a capped Toblerone!”
Had lunch high up in one of the Trogdylite galleries there, before returning to the campsite to try and organise some Audio files for this site. Slow progress.
In the evening went out for a meal to another vegetarian restaurant in Les Eyzies, the OKIVI opposite the Tourist Information. Excellent interesting food itrespective of being vegetarian. Definately one to come back to.
