Sept 24 Au revoir Les Eyzies
A day of packing up.
After just over a week here, Topsy’s paw has improved and I have decided 5o head for Mazimet. This is east of Castres abd qhere I would have left the GR36 to join the GR7. Topsy willing and able, I hope to walk from there to Liausson on Lake Salagou to deliver the Xmas pudding on the 6th October.
So cleaned out the tent and got rid of any excess paper and dried everything tboroughly. Then headed off to the railway station to get my ticket. A Japanese lady in front of me, with a strong Japanese accent, was exceeding the English comprehension of the ticket office manager with phrases like “Does 5he train stop white (right!) here!”
Buying tickets for the dogs was not a problem. Only he had a new computer and he could not get it to print out more than tbe first part of a 3 part ticket! At least he wasn’t férmed!
Then went round to a friend’s house and ended up forraging for plums for an amazingly light pastry tart. I had to choo the woos for the fire but at least dod not jave to dig the potatoea for a most delicous roti of potatoes and onions. Definately on the return trip list!
