Oct 8 South of Liausson
After thanking John & Di for the best Christmas Dinner EVER, I managed to set off just before 10AM.
My route is to head directly south for the coast. I followed a pipeline up into the hills, then promptly lost the good trails, as those marked on my map wete obviously out of favout with the wild boar population. A vegetation fight followed. It won a bag of bread, previously tied into my backpack. So lunch was breadless and camembert and saucisson-sec only.
The clouds wrre oninously dark but no thunder or rain thankfully mayerialised untill about 7PM.
By then, I had managed to work my way down through the moyntains, passing the ever-thought provoking military clothing factory at Villeneuvette, where “Honneur au Trevail” is emblazobed above the arched doorway. Frighteningly similar to “Arbeit macht frei” at the entrance of German concentration camps.
Hoping to replace my loat bread I atopped at the boulangerie in Pèret. Ferméd on lundis! So on to the cpsite at Fontès, where amazingly they had a baguette, fresh orange juice, milk and raviolli! Wonderful!
So I ate well and retired to bed in the rain, which became torrential. But no thunder.
