There is a walk high above the twisting Vézère river, following the cliffs where trogdylites lived below. Each tower is a cliff face with views over the river and the valley below. Not a good place for labradors to play tag!

As the sky darkened early in the afteroon, and the spluttering notes of the over-petroled rallye cars echoed in the distance, we headed home, as thunder joined the cacophony of noise. The wood that had been carefully stacked and covered with a tarpaulin, now withstood the rain that pelted down. A trio of cats took retreat to the safety of the bedroom.
