Have just struggled uphill for 1k in the mid-day sun (~30°C) to Mt.-St.-Jean (251m), to find the boukangerie closed, the post office/general store closed and the Bar Tabac not only closed on a Monday, but closed for his annual holidays!

Am almost out of dog food, and a boulangerie in the previous village did not have any: only cat food! So the dogs are living off rice and chicken and ham.

A kind man on a bicycle has just stopped to talk to us camped out on the church steps in the shade, and has gone off to find some “croquettes” (dog nuts)! So the dogs are sorted! Heading for a Gite d’Ètape 3k north of Sillé-le-Guillaume (and 6k from here,  on lake Le Grande Étang) when the temperature drops from the current 34°C at 5PM!
