Aug 9 Day26 Things we forgot
It”s that sickening feeling, when you reach for something, and it’s not there.
Like a dog lead. We had walk back 1k to retrieve them from a previous stop.
Then there is today”s camping lesson. If you wish to make your backpack lighter, hang your washed shorts on the back to dry, and when they fall off you have saved 0.2kg!
The forecast for today was sunny and not too hot in the morning (22°C) and overcast in the afternoon. So had a lazy 9PM start; collected a croissant from the La Guirche bar/tabac/store, as well as milk and dogfood, which was consumed on a bench outside.
Not a very interesting days walking, as you were sandwiched in a corridor between major roads heading for Le Man’s, as well as a TV route and a conventional railway. As the GR36 skirted Le Mans to the north and east, we hit a CASINO spermatket. So we did the usual debauchery and ate dog food, milk and and chicken on the steps outside.
Seen some wonderful creepy-crawlies today including a type of stick lnsect that sat on my rucksack. (See Dogs Diary).
Am camped 4-5 k north of Yvré-l’Évêque in a field and the plan is to go to the village campsite in the morning, shower, then meet Ben and Susi Eddolls (from Stow-on-the-Wold) for lunch/afternoon.
