Aug 17 Tours de force
Some days you are just lucky. This was one of them.
After a disasterous day yesterday, this was planned as a shopping replacement day, and it all worked, and more.
On the advice of the very capable young lady Geraldine on the camping reception (who will later star on the Audio Diary!), O caught the No.3a bus to the Town Hall, started walking down the wide traffic-free (except for trams!) Rue Nationale.
The Apple shop only did Apple.
The shoppong arcade they reccommended did not sell mobiles.
The Orange shop came up trumps and I walked away with two x3 mobile recharge batteries and one that also charged itself on solar AND a plug-in-the-wall charger. At this point Sarah Mann abd Alex from Stow rang.
“Where are you?”
So I stood in the middle of the tram lines and waved! As there was a tram coming this was not the best place to stand! We shared a cup of coffee and the dogs got some TLC. Later Happy dived into a dress shop! I suspect she scented Sarah and wanted more TLC!
We even tracjed down some gas cannisters AND a burner unit for French style pop-on cannisters.
None of the pharmacies stocked the dog’s anti- inflammatory dug, Loxicam. So with 5% power remaining on my phone, I got to one beside the camp site. The kind lady vet could not see anything wrong wuth Topsy’s pads, but gave her a liquid to be pasted on to harden the pads. So worth the trek.
Cauggt thebus back to the campsite, atopping off for a beer and a quick trip to Lidle for dog food and salads.
Aim to take a mid- day train to Saumur tomorrow.
