1.5l of Vin Rosé at 2€, should be slow drinking. On a hot afternoon it is not!

Took Topsy to the vet hete in Thouars this morning who diagnosed a right shoulder stiffness and a slightly reddened paw. So she is prescribed a steroid cream for the paw; a boot has been ordered for Friday lunchtime for the foot. In the meantime, Topy has been prescribed 4 days rest, and I have taken to the rosé!

We arrived in Thouars at 6PM last night and I was delighted to find a restaurant at the entrance to the Municipal Campsite (4€  with hot showers!). I Had a large beer, then when I went to reserve a tble for the evening, it was ‘no dogs’, the first time that I have been turned away. So I pigged out on the self catering with a salad, taboule side salad, canneloni with additional ham! The dogs had tinned dog-food and shared a litre of milk with me.

The day has however been productive. I have bought clip-on polaroid sunglasses that are so effective in cutting out light that I cannot read the street names. They may get binned at 10€!

Stocked ip food and got told off for bringing the dogs into the Super-U supermarket.

This afternoon did a major wash. This includes THE towel (which I share with the dogs) abd my sulk skeeping bag liner. Neither had been washed for a month and I was surprised how much dirt came out!

As we are here for 3-4 days, I have moved the tent to a more shaded and grassier spot.

Unlike all thede cyclists who are tearing up the kilometres, I am not in a race. If I cannot walk to Liausson by Octobet 6th , I will take the bus!
